process linux load balancing at your fingertips

process linux for steam deck

defaultdiskio.txt rename to .sh
allows you to select the amount of disk usage for the load balancer and when the disk usage is too low sets io priority to high cpu usage does have to be edited in the script but all you have to do is edit it in a text editor takes 5 seconds.
defaultcpu.txt rename to .sh
for programs where io priority is set to low when cpu usage is high and sets it to high when cpu usage is low you can edit those lines if you want.
copy and paste the scripts with your modifications to meet a wide variety of situations opens up a list of programs on your linux machine press ctrl f to find the name of the program then type its pid or use task manager. great for running proton games. powertop will even show you the pid of of the process responsible for playing media files usr/bin/wiresomething not the literal name im just saying it ends in wire on ubuntu. I use xubuntu.
values used in files are meant to be modified the values in the example values are not real values ive ever used sure theyre safe but these arent optimized for performance modify them to suit your needs how ever setting io priority to low when cpu usage is high and setting io priority to high when cpu usage or disk usage is low is recommended by the developer what the sweet spot is I won't say.
